The Human Condition - Reflection In The Blade

Beneath a perfect sky
The sun begins to fade
I cover up my eyes
So nothing seems so grey
After the rain I thought that I
Could face another day
But in the depth of my denial
I feel the brightness stray

Reflection in the blade
The face of my self hate
I gently lift the sleeves
I try to find my veins
Just one small cut
It's all I really need
To feel the blood run cold
It sets my mind free

I'm on my knees I pray
Don't let this be a sin on my head
To gain eternal rest
We can't persist in this dismay
I damn the de-ja-vus of life
And wish myself to sleep
If all I wanted was a blade
Would I be cursed unto this loathsome place?

The dawn beams down
Radiant and bright
I can't face you now
So leave me here to fall

I think of your face
My life's only joy
Tears roll down your cheek
You're standing all alone
Rain falls all around
There's a hole in the ground
The tombstone lays blank
You can't remember my face

Regret consumes me
We can't leave it like this
After the rain I thought that I
Could face myself again
But my reflection bares a side that
Still brings me to shame

Rest from pain
I want to die
Cut my wrists
Let them bleed

Searching for something
But don't know why I keep trying
Wasting away without a sign
Disguise a silent fate
You'll throw the blame on everyone
But its just destiny

Wash my sins
Away with blood
Red the hue
Of my demise

You never tried to see my view
You never wanted to see
I never wanted to be you
Why can't you just let me be?

Wasted all my time
On hating it's draining
You whisper so you can blame us
When we haven't heard

I'm getting so cold
I'm nearing the end
I can't turn back now
I have made my choice
